"Global" Thread...
Hi,
I own a gaming forum, and one of the forums is split so that each server has their own sub-forum. Most users only read threads in their respective server forums. What I want to do is, have a way to make one thread applied to all sub-forums -- that way people can all view the same thread, and also comment all into that single thread that's spread into all the server sub-forums. Another solution I was thinking about is being able to have comments in the Global announcements. And another solution was to make all threads that are posted in ______ forum become global announcements that people can make posts to. Are any of these solutions currently in vB, or available as a hack? If not I can probably get to coding something :< |

I must say I liked the ability to be able to make a Global Announcement, Announcement as posting options...
Great features like these should be included as standard I think.. |

one semi-solution would be to create the "global" thread in one of the subforums, then "move" the thread to each other subforum (ensuring that you select the option "Move and leave redirect in previous forum") until the thread reaches the central forum where actual discussions would take place. Then go back to each subforum and sticky the redirect threads.
