CSS Drop Down Menus

I wanna make a CSS menu similiar to the one in vB like quick links. I know there is a tutorial on vb.com but its for adrop down menu on a vb page, this will not be on a vb page. Any idea how? I want it to have a vertical text link on the left side of the page like this:

And when the vistor hovers thier mouse over it, it slides over revealing the links.

Any ideas?
