Comment Hack
A Comment Hack where people can make comments on non-VB pages, like this one (scroll to the bottom) - http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content...der-review.htm. Sitepoint.com also does this for their articles, the threads are non-hidden in a forum. http://www.sitepoint.com/article/get...ed-with-pear/3 . But I DON'T want it integrated into any CMS/portal.
Based on what people said on this site, the way it works is this: 1. You create hidden forums with a thread for the comments for a particular page. 2. Find a way to query the thread to show the entire thread (not just a link with the thread name). If there were no posts, a 'reply' button would simply show to let someone leave a comment. A couple of possible hints: 1. People on bulletin.org have mentioned Coppermine has a way of doing this and the code from theirs might help with this. 2. There are a couple of hacks on this site that allow you to show the Last X Posts on a non-VB page. I'm not sure if that code will spark any ideas. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ad+non-VB+page https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...ad+non-VB+page A Comment hack is something that a few people here have mentioned and people here seem to think it is a quick job. |
