Professional Advise please?

Hi and thanks for at least reading my post

I have to admit that I am somewhat of a newbie you might say

I have RC2 installed and I would love to try out several modifications that have been posted here. I get the impression that most people are waiting until the Gold version is released.

Would this be because of all the file changes? eg: gamma to rc2 then rc2 = all files had to be changed or updated.

Until a stable release, I assume that this will continue to be the case with file updates, in which case, would I also be correct in saying that all modifications would have to be redone?
