Possible to migrate VB5 to VB4?
I installed VB5 because when I started a new forum I thought it would be best to start with the most up to date software.
I was wrong. I have had a VB4 forum for a couple of years and love it. VB5 is like going 5 steps backwards. Key features are missing and posting is a nightmare (cursor jumps around, entire posts get deleted for no reason). Is it possible to migrate at least users to a VB4 install? I'd of course love to be able to migrate threads also, but the forum is new enough that I don't think the users will be too upset if they have to start threads over. I did see a service that will downgrade VB5 to VB4 for quite a bit of money, more than the software cost, so am not interested in that. I would pay a reasonable amount, if needed. |
