While Loop Using fetch_userinfo - 'Array' Displayed?

Hey all,
When I try to do a While Loop, I have a line of code that looks like:

$username = fetch_userinfo($userid);

However, the output always displays 'Array' instead of the username.
Does anyone know how I can get around this?
