Is this possible?
Ok so there are multiple people DDoSing my site, including ex-owners.
Doesn't bother me personally, as I've moved on from managing hacking sites, but I have a load of members who have donated, and I'd feel bad not doing anything to help. So I had an idea, would it make sense to have my database on one server, and multiple other servers to house the files (All synchronised), so when one server is attacked, it automatically switches to the next and so on.. The servers would obviously connect to the database via remoteSQL, so provided the server housing the database isn't attacked, site should be fine. This way, the attacks will have to be divided up in order to down ALL of the servers. (Kind of similar to a reverse proxy + load balancers but eh) My questions are; 1: Is it possible 2: Can I have multiple sites connecting to the same database 3: Would I just have to list the other servers as backup nameservers under my dns options? 4: Would you say it's an effective method to manage DDoS attacks? Thanks in advance for any suggestions |
