Interesting Redirect Issue
I am going to explain this the best I can because this redirect issue is driving me crazy.
I recently upgraded my forum to vbulletin 4.1.8. That upgrade required me to also upgrade my vbadvanced homepage and my vbseo so that everything would be compatible. Everything went "fairly" smooth with the upgrade but I am now noticing a strange redirect issue. I renamed my vbulletin index.php file to reptileforums.php (I have had it this way for years.) I renamed the cmps_index.php file to index.php (Thats the vbadvanced file and I have had it this way for years.) Both of the pages are working as expected unless you type herpcenter.com/index.php or herpcenter.com/index.php?. If you add the index.php part the page redirects to my forumhome page. If you don't add it to the url it works as expected. It doesn't make any sense. Vbseo isn't the culprit because this redirect occurs even when vbseo is disabled. I can't for the life of me figure out why it would be happening and was hoping that someone with more knowledge may be able to lead me in the right direction. I viewed vbulletins index.php (which I renamed to reptileforums.php) and it is actually just a redirect file now.It redirects my site to use the forums.php file since I don't have their cms installed. I was wondering if that could somehow be the issue but don't know how. I am open to ideas. I posted this on vbadvanced website as well hoping that Brian may be able to shed some light on this but I haven't heard anything. Thanks for taking the time to read this. |
