Dynamic Resize of Widget Content

Okay, I've searched around and have not found a way to do this, so I'm posting in the hopes someone can either point out what I'm missing to create/direct me to a mod that will allow this. Here's the deal.

I have noticed that when viewing the CMS section of my site on devices with different resolutions that the article columns automatically resize. More importantly, any images or videos embedded in them also resize to the width of the column. This ensures that everything remains within the column regardless of the resolution of the device. The width of the widgets also seems to resize, along with any text contained therein.
However, images embedded in the widgets (static_html widgets specifically) do not resize and end up half hidden beneath the columns.

Is there a way for me to get the widget images to automatically resize as well?

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the source file actually being resized at upload, just scaling how it displays.
