Login Strike - Need to disable automatic email generation....
To all -
I've searched the forums for the answer to this question......and have found many similar questions but haven't been able to find what I'm looking for... so i do apologize if this can be found somewhere else.... My forums (vBulletin 3.8.2) have been recently been pounded by persons attempting to use usernames displayed on the forums public page with various passwords, locking the actual user out for the standard 15mins and generating an email that has the default message which is sent to the user's registered email address.... What we've discovered is that with the removal of lots of publicly displayed usernames, no one has successfully logged in.......and the problem is NOT that the strike system is not working.... but that the email's generated are (predictably) freaking out the users. Since there has been no successful logins by the culprits, I'd simply like to disable the automatic email generation...most users don't post often enough to complain about not being able to login every 15 mins, but they are complaining about getting tons of emails saying someone has tried to login unsuccessfully with their username...which they forward to me. So does anyone know how i might go about continuing to use the "login strike" but disable the automatic generation and sending of the error notification email?? Any help would be greatly appreciated......and if this has been answered elsewhere, I apologize, just point me in the right direction and close this thread.... Thank you in advance for your help!! |
