Upgrading: Rebuild search index and rebuild thread keywords

I am currently doing vB 3.8.4->4 upgrade on a test environment.

After the upgrade.php process I've been alerted in the admincp to rebuild thread keywords and the search index. I found a searchindex.php in the do_not_upload and from vbulletin.org, which I have been running:

IDs 5190000-5200000 ... Done (179.24 sec - 46.32%)
IDs 5200000-5210000 ... Done (188.56 sec - 46.41%)
IDs 5210000-5220000 ... Done (175.41 sec - 46.50%)
IDs 5220000-5230000 ... Done (170.58 sec - 46.59%)
IDs 5230000-5240000 ... Done (201.22 sec - 46.68%)
IDs 5240000-5250000 ... Done (191.30 sec - 46.77%)
IDs 5250000-5260000 ... Done (174.88 sec - 46.86%)
IDs 5260000-5270000 ... Done (183.52 sec - 46.94%)

This has been about 18 hours right now - way too long. What am I supposed to do? Granted our production server will be better and it will run faster - but it will still take a LONG time.

Is there anything we can do? Otherwise we'll need to have the forums off for an entire day to do the upgrade!
