Database Upload Error

Hi,

I wanted to upload a database from my old hosting provider but received the error below.

#1046 - No database selected

The entire database is about 23megabytes.

Also, is there a way to copy the database directly from one server to another, without having to download to computer and upload it?

BTW, i tried to upload via phpmyadmin, i did export and then import where needed.
