vB dropdown menu causes MultiQuote and Quickreply buttons to stop working in postbit

I have followed the instructions in the vB user manual to add a dropdown menu in my navbar using the class vbmenu_control.

When I add the new menu, I have noticed that the Quickreply and Multiquote buttons in the postbit stop working, ie. clicking on them has no effect.

Removing the menu from the navbar resolves the problem and the buttons start working again.

Any ideas how to solve this?
