Though it's probably the definition of a work in progress, Level-Up is a community that connects gamers through charity and community service. We already have a few events lined up, and we make use of the excellent YAAS award system to power Badges, which users can earn by doing good things, like feeding a man for a day. There's a ton of potential just in the name and in our first month we received a ton of latent Internet traffic, about 250,000 requests for pages and a hair under 6,000 uniques. I've been working on a rather large gaming tournament with the proceeds benefiting a local children's hospital, and I'm hoping we garner some local press (in the Louisville, KY area) and really grow from there.
