Your Notificaions Question

My forum is image 2. I want mine to look like image 1 with that pop out box for alerts. Currently mine only alerts for private messages there.

I run 3.7 with a custom skin, I tried reverting the navbar template and it screwed things up a bit. I just Un reverted it.

Is there anyother way to get those features?
