Small help Needed: Seperate Sticky & Normal Threads

When i am using the code to seperate

<tr><td class="thead" colspan="<if condition="$show['threadicons']">7<else />6</if>"> </td></tr>

I am not getting the correct height/space in between How to get one like lower in the image attached (at present i am getting the upper one height)
