Stimulating donations to vb mod coders would stimulate vb's development
I think that the following suggestions would greatly increase the number of vb mods on vb.org:
A feature on vb.org that sends a messages a month after a mod was marked as installed. The message asks the forum member if he/she enjoys the mod (the answer can be posted in the relevant thread) and if he/she wants reward the modder by donating. (with donation link) Additionally it would be nice if vb.org would offer advanced payment options for donations. For example: I only donate to coders with e-gold cause that's what I have. If vb.org would have a donation system where I could transfer from e-gold or whatever payment method to a vb.org donation account, then I would be able to donate from there and thus reward more coders for their contribution. After reading this, this may sound like a strange concept to some, but those coders that work through coding project bidding sites are already familiar with such payment system. It works well. Further; I do believe if vb.org would be able to increase donations for coders, then the number of new modifications would surge. With this in mind it would even be worthwhile for Jelsoft to consider other methods of stimulating coder donations. |
