i have a site where users can log in and use their vbulletin login info to do things like post movie reviews and comment on our non vbulletin news system, but these users don't show up in the who's online section.
basically i include global.php in the files so i can read their username and userid. what do i have to do to make them show up as online users when browsing the rest of the site? i'm guessing i somehow need to initiate a session, or have that session follow them from the forums to the rest of the site ![]() any help is greatly appreciated!!! --------------- Added [DATE]1202267311[/DATE] at [TIME]1202267311[/TIME] --------------- i should also add that i'm not concerned with showing WHERE they are online, more so just that they appear in the online users list. --------------- Added [DATE]1202331003[/DATE] at [TIME]1202331003[/TIME] --------------- so far here is where i'm at... i include the global.php file and i'm able to check usernames and id's and all that, using them to associate comments in our news and user submitted movie reviews with their vbulletin accounts. the problem is the user while browsing non vb pages is not included in the "who's online list". i tried for the heck of it including misc.php at the bottom of the page and bam, there it is. i tried going through the file and figuring out what exactly misc.php is doing that makes the user appear active but i just can't figure it out. i feel like it's something simple and i'm just looking right over it... STUMPED! |
