attachment thumbnail -- variable name

hello,

i can't seem to identify the "variable" that stores the Attachment Thumbnail "ID" value on the showthread.php page.

so, if you view the properties of an uploaded attachment image thumbmail, in the Address/URL path after "attachmentid=" you see the value placed in this variable----- what is the name of this variable and on what page is it located?

i'm hoping someone knows this off hand (or otherwise)! thank you very much in advance....???

fyi,
i'm trying to show the thumbnail image of an attachment on an external page. i'm almost there... just can't find the variable to pass to the page.
