Regenerating Threads
When a thread reaches a certain number of pages (let's say 10), the thread is automatically locked. At the end of the locked thread, a bot or something posts that the thread is now closed, and please visit (URL) for the new thread.
There would be a new thread generated by the bot with the same topic as the locked one. The bot would post the first post that would contain a link back to the old, locked thread.
I have seen mods than lock a post after X number of pages, but not one that can also generate a new thread after locking the old one.
