Help Seprating Out Header and Footer Code
Hi, All -
I'm new here and need some help. I designed a skin (with several nested tables) using the design mode of Dreamweaver that I would like to use as a shell for my vBulletin forum. I originally cut and pasted the code from the Dreamweaver page I had created directly into the "Header" code box that shows up at Styles and Templates --> Style Manager --> Common Templates (after having cut some of the default VB coding that initially shows up in the "Header" box). That was great insofar as it pulled the whole skin I had built in Dreamweaver into VB ... but, it did this in a way that inserts the VB forum page into one of the table spaces I had initiall created at the very bottom of the page. I was able to go into the CP and modify the width of the VB forum so that it fits flush with the table scheme I layed out in Dreamweaver. I can not, howeverm, figure out how to raise the VB forum up into a higher position. I hope this makes sense the way I have described it ... again, I'm a novice. I spoke with the folks at VB and they suggetsed doing a posting here to get help fixing/separating the header/footer code so that the VB forum wraps in a way that works with the established table spaces. If you go to If anyone out there can help, it would be hugely appreciated! The current web view of what I have created so far is here: http://larutamayaforfoodies.com/forums/ (you'll see the VB forum element there at the bottom) And below is the entire code for the skin (with nested tables) I built in Dreamweaver: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" /> <title>Untitled Document</title> <style type="text/css"> <!-- body { background-color: #000000; } .style1 { font-family: Zapfino; color: #66ccff; font-size: 30px; } a { font-family: Helvetica Neue UltraLight; } a:link { color: #FFFFFF; } a:visited { color: #000066; } .style7 {font-size: 18px; font-family: "Helvetica Neue UltraLight"; color: #FFFFFF; font-weight: bold; } --> </style></head> <body> <table width="701" height="630" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#660000"> <!--DWLayoutTable--> <tr align="center" valign="top"> <td height="26" colspan="5" valign="top"><!--DWLayoutEmptyCell--> </td> <td width="1"></td> </tr> <tr align="center" valign="top"> <td width="52" height="101"></td> <td colspan="3" align="center" valign="middle" bgcolor="#330000"><h1><span class="style1">La Ruta Maya for foodies</span></h1></td> <td width="52"></td> <td></td> </tr> <tr align="center" valign="top"> <td colspan="5" rowspan="2" align="center" valign="middle"><!--DWLayoutEmptyCell--> </td> <td height="18"></td> </tr> <tr align="center" valign="top"> <td height="50"></td> </tr> <tr align="center" valign="top"> <td height="172" colspan="5" rowspan="5" valign="top"><p align="center" class="style7"> </p></td> <td></td> </tr> <tr align="center" valign="top"> <td height="24"></td> </tr> <tr align="center" valign="top"> <td></td> </tr> <tr align="center" valign="top"> <td height="23"></td> </tr> <tr align="center" valign="top"> <td height="80"></td> </tr> <tr align="center" valign="top"> <td colspan="5" valign="top"><!--DWLayoutEmptyCell--> </td> <td height="67"></td> </tr> </table> </body> </html> |
