Alternative to vbArticles?

++++++++++'s vbARticles looks like a pretty cool mod, but it's more complex than I really need. Are there any other mods/hacks out there?

I don't need anything that facilitates members adding articles. I'm the only one creating/adding articles. I just need a clean way to create a link to a few categories and display the articles in the site.

Did a search but didn't find anything but vbArticles and insructions on creating custom pages which is an option that may work.

Am I missing anything before I go down one of those paths?
