Best classifieds plug in to use?
I want to
a) Give members the classifieds for free for about half a year b) Then introduce a PayPal charge per new FOR SALE ad thread - but give all members say, 10 ads worth of free credit (Vbux???) I would like bad trader / trader ratings I want to avoid as many trader dispute hassles as posible. For this reason I dont feel comfortable taking some sort of commission from each sale. (about once every 2 months one of my members falls victim to a $5,000+ rip off scam from ebay, and sometimes from my classifieds forum (which is a standard VB subforum) People dont hold me responcible, but they DO want to then use the forum to track down the criminal which is a pain..) I simply want to charge for a simple FOR SALE notice board. Thanks in advance for any advice / tips. Here is a responce to a recent rip off story. It seems the person that ripped off a member of the forum recently, has done it before. To another forum member.. Hi All, I am sorry to hear of your dealings with **** ****. The **** club is probably bigger than any of us realise. In looking over the other posts with all the excuses, including Mr. ****'s supposed death, I can only tell you from experience that it is all a hoax...all of it!! In July of 2003, I bought a *** from Mr **** in an (OK I admit it) off ebay transaction. I wired the money to TD Canada Trust in Vancouver BC and after a month, I had no tracking number and nothing but excuses. I have a file on this as thick as my arm, but let's see... 1. The mic had export problems at customs and was sent back by FedEx. 2. Agreed to resend by US mail but never did. 3. In the hospital with bronchitis. 4. Recovering from a car accident and in a wheel chair. 5. Wife is divorcing him and the mic is at his wife's house...can't get to it Finally in about November 2003, I filed suit in small claims court in Vancouver BC, having had him investigated by a private investigator. BTW, I also filed a report with Vancouver police, but they would do nothing, in spite of the fact that at $7500 Canadian, I was well over the minimum amount for action. It took until June of 2004 to get ***** into court, given the fact that he evaded service by claiming to be "travelling in Europe and is unable to respond." He did show up to the settlement conference and brought the ***with him. The court gave me a few minutes to examine the *** and say I was satisfied. The **** barely worked, but benefited from a full restoration and is a very nice ***** at this point. I can say that the court was unimpressed with his excuses...which included him telling me that he was afraid if he sent me the mic that I would scam him by saying I never received it! So you think that's all? Not quite. In early 2006, I spotted an ebay listing for a ****** where the seller was "******," the same ID ****** was using when I made my purchase. I debated "getting involved," but decided to go ahead and contact the high bidder, who ultimately won. He is an ********* from The Netherlands. He not only won the *******, but bought a ***** from ***** in an off ebay transaction. At first, he didn't understand why I was contacting him, but I just told him my story and left it at that. I gave him my phone number and told him to call if anything went wrong with the deal. About a month later he called me, saying that after a month he had no tracking number and no mixer. I sent him to the same private investigator I had used, who managed to dig up even more dirt on ****. To make a long story short, it took about six months for him to get **** into a BC court settlement conference (by phone). The court found for the buyer and he buyer agreed to take payments from **** over a year or so. He is now awaiting his first payment. Believe me when I say this guy is as slick as they come and does what he does with great purpose and malice aforethought. This is not hearsay...I have lived every moment of it. There is quite simply no excuse I would believe about Mr. ***s condition. He appeared to me to be a healthy, mid-thirties man, who did not appear to have been in any auto accidents or any wheelchair and he is not likely dead. If there is any way I can help anyone who has been scammed, PM me and I will tell you what I know in more detail. **** **** Portland, OR |
