Form? to assign numbers to names for entry into contest

I want to create a new page for a giveaway drawing. That page will show what they can win AND have a place for people submit their names for the giveaway. I can create the page but...

My Question...
On that page, I want to have some sort of form? or just a way for users to submit their name for the giveaway. The big thing is that each name needs to be assigned a number. First to submit their name gets #1, next name to enter gets #2 and so on for however many people submit their name

When it's time for the draw, I'll use an online random number generator. I just need a way for the people to submit their names and get assigned a number. If I need to do this through a post instead of a new page, I can do that too. I'm flexible. Any ideas?

Just need some way for users to enter their names and get assigned a number (and for me to be able to see the compiled list of course)
