Does torrent tracking take bandwidth?

i know that torrent tracking puts load on the server...
but does it take up bandwidth as well?
i mean,
if some one share's 1 Gb of files through a tracker on my board, does the 1 Gb go through my band width limit?
will the 1 GB be in my bandwidth?
