Connecting multiple VB installs via a bridge?
I know there are a lot of people who are interested in connecting multiple VB forums to create a network of sorts, allowing users to retain the same login etc. across all the sites. The only solution to this I have seen to date involves a massive amount of hacking of core files.
Would it not be possible to do via some sort of bridge, the way Photopost, VBAdvanced Links etc. work? I am not skilled enough to know the how/why this would not work but thought by throwing it out there is may spark an idea in some coders heads. I am about to launch around 5 sister sites to my forum and am just deciding to start them with a zero user base and have people re-sign up. Sucks but I don't want the nightmare of 2 day upgrades because so many core files are hacked apart. Thoughts? |
