(some) forums in three columns?

I would like to display some of our forums in a three-column format like here, but I forgot the hack. We used to have while running 3.0.X, but not any longer after having upgraded to 3.6.0.

Could someone provide me with a link to the hack? Does it work with 3.6.0?
