How do I make sub-forums ?

well i know how to make a subforum.

But how do i make it feature on the index of the forum ?

have a look at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/

and for each categories there is a

Sub-Forums *Link1 *Link2 *Link3

How do i set this up ?
