Show New Posts search as Posts instead of Threads

I was wondering if, and how, it is possible to display the New Posts search results as posts instead of threads/links to the threads.

If you do a normal search, you can choose if you want to output the results as posts or as threads (default), now I want the Posts option aswell, but then for new posts

Thanks in advance for any help/ideas etc.
