Weight room
Person 1: I'm done with these weights. What should I do with them?
Person 2: Leave them on the floor? Person 1: Hell, that's a good idea. Let's also not even put them on the floor near the machine/equipment? Damn, people at my college weight room, put back your frickin' weights when you're done with them. The signs there specifically mention not to lean weights against stuff (it could fall and crush your foot/hand) or leave them lying around (a trip hazard and they're harder to pick up). I mean, even when presented with the spindles for weights, people will just lean the weights against them rather than, I don't know, putting the weights on the spindles themselves. Best of all, when they put the weights on the spindles, they're often not sorted, and the massive 45 lb weights are covering up the 5 lb weights (necessary for slowly incrementing total weights on the bar). I also don't like it when people finish with the bench press, but fail to remove the collar and weights from it. It's not hurting anything, but it's polite to leave a unweighted bar so others can populate it more easily in the future. Then there are people that grip the bar on a bench press without using an opposable thumb position (and without a spotter on top of that), but Darwinism will take care of that. |
