vb javascript menus?

I am using a portal (vBadvanced CMPS) for my forum (www.onlinedebate.net).

My skin uses its header for navigation. The navigation works perfectly from the /forum/ directory...but on the root (w/ the portal), the links that use javascript (Search and Quick Links) don't work.

I've asked this at vbadvanced.com but I'm not getting much help there (and right now the site is down).

I was told briefly, that this had to do w/ the < div> tags needing to be moved from the navbar (which I'm not using for this skin) to the header area that contains those 2 navigation links.

But I have < div> tags there. So I don't really know what to do.

Now when I enable the navbar, the Search and Quick Links scripts work fine from the home page. But when it's disabled, it doesn't work.

How can I get the Search/Quick Links javascripts to work while having the navbar be disabled on the home page?

FYI, I've disabled it because it looks too cluttered when active.
