"Disappearing" a member
I wonder if anyone could offer a techinical solution to disappearing a member of my board.
My board has a policy of no permenant bans, except in the case of hacking, and so I'm in an annoying position of wanting to get rid of someone. It's fair to say they are a pain in the whatsit, and I'm sure people could understand my situation. Anyhow, in order to disappear someone, what steps should I take? I don't want it to be public knowledge that they've been banned. * First of all I'll give them a banned usergroup that gives them the apperance in the post bit of a normal user except being banned. Sorted. * Next I ban their IP of course. I may use my servercp to be extra sure * Chat will be a problem, I can ban a bunch of usernames and IPs, but they could be cleared by another chatop Basically I can't do it. Is there a 'supercookie' whereby I can have their machine not access my site, even after the standard clearing of cookies? Hmmm... |
