subscribing to a forum

Hi everyone,

I want my users to be able to subscribe to a forum in the same way that they can subscribe to a thread. So basically they will receive instant e-mail notification when ever a new thread is created, exactly like when an administrator is notified of new threads.

I am aware of the standard subscribe to forum option, however that only gives daily and monthly notification. I want it to be realtime... So a post is made and the subscribers get a notification.
