Attachments Issue ?
I'm new to the whole vB scene and so far I've done 3 installs ... 2 pretty straight forward and the newest one is going to be a little more complicated.
I understand that vB uses the database to store attachments. The problem is that I'm not on my own server and the hosting company charges a few more $$$ for MySQL diskspace. What I've tried doing is posting links to the files on my regular diskspace but, this takes a lot longer and usually ends up getting edited a few times before it's right. My question is ... is there a hack that will allow me to post the attachment but instead of holding it in the MySQL db, on regular diskspace? I know that having my own server would be the right way of doing it but, I'm just starting out, I don't want to over extend myself before I know that this is going to work. Thanks in advance. M |
