Unable to delete Messages / Notifications from Database

Posted this on VB.Com earlier but normally get a quicker response here on .Org.. and i know a couple of Support members have viewed it on VB.Com and not responded..

Hi,
I have a member who can no longer send PMs as he has surpassed the 50 limit, Which in fact he only has 4 messages stored , I checked in AdminCP under his account and it showed total stored was 86 , almost 80 were notifications, So i advised him to delete them all and set his profile to Not show Notifications on his profile, This he has now done , BUT he still cannot send messages as the system says he still has surpassed the 50 limit,,
I logged in as Super Admin and also on my everyday account with Admin clearance and Deleted all his Messages and Notifications myself and then checked his Profile, It is STILL showing him as having 86 total messages stored, I have tried at least 5 times to delete them yet they are still stored and the system confirms i have deleted them everytime..

Is this a KNOWN BUG or is there a simple fix.. Our forum is on 5.0.2 PL2.. I havent upgraded to 5.0.3 or 5.0.4 as i am reading Many forums are getting even more problems and Bugs, so am holding back for a much improved upgrade as our forum seems to run quite well compared to many on here and .Org i read about..

Also how do i increase the Maximum of 50 messages , On another forum i Admin (4.1.10) we have it set as 200 which works well with the members there..

If this isnt a known Bug, Should i opened a support ticket.. ??
