is there a hack (or a feature im totally missing) in vBulletin that allows you to view new posts, but only in subscribed forums?

i know you can view new posts system-wide.. but i have users asking for a way to view subscribed forums only ...

is there any hack out there for this? or an easy way to do it?

i dont want to go dabbling into search.php just yet ... it frightens me (j/k)
actually, im just lazy and want to check before i go at it...
