Can V4 Articles on the CMS link to forum posts?

Basically when somone clicks the "read more" button on a new article or post on the home page, it takes you back to a thread on my forum. here is the perfect example of what i want

i know v4 has an option to "promote to article" but it still creates an article page. id rather it just link directly back to the thread.
