Addon/mod to allow assigning moderation rights for a specific forum to a group

I originally posted this over on vbulletin.com but I was told that vBulletin has no direct support for this feature. I was referred back here for a mod that supports this:

I have a situation where there are a number of forums and categories on my board. I also have a few different type of user groups. I want to give some of these groups moderator rights, but only over specific categories/forums. For example, I want group X to be able to view and post to all forums like a regular user, but have moderator rights over only category Y.

Is there a mod or some way that I can do this? I can't give these people moderator rights over the entire board.
