Major bug? Adjust price of subscription cuts access but still charges users.
Had a premium forum subscription that was $7 a month. Wanted to switch it to a $18 for 3 months model. Now every day I'm watching tons of members get seemingly knocked off by the system as "invalid_payment_amount." That's what I see in the transaction log and there seems to be no way of stopping it.
Now I've Googled and found literally NO results on this error. But the worst part is that these people are still being charged by PayPal. So their subscription is still active, the money is still taken, yet they are unable to access the forum as an active member. I tried adding back a $7 monthly subscription along with the new $18 3 month one, but it didn't fix it. Every day more and more people are locked out of their premium subscriptions while still being charged for them. How can this be repaired? The only material I've even read was an obscure mention in a vBulletin manual that simply said "don't change the price." Of course by the time I found that it was too late. This seems to be a major flaw in vBulletin's subscription system. Did they never anticipate the price of a subscription might need to be adjusted? |
