Invisible .htaccess file
My dedicated server seems to be set up to hide .htaccess files. It's not a client issue, I have used different FTP clients to log into my server and none of them show the .htaccess files there (and they do show the .htaccess files for sites I have on other servers).
I desperately need to add some lines to my .htaccess file. I don't know what's there already so I want to download the existing .htaccess file, add my lines and then re-upload it.
With any other file it would be the easiest thing in the world but for some reason my server is configured to hide the .htaccess file so I don't know how to download it.
It's really frustrating me!
Does anyone know how to change a server setting (Linux) to show .htaccess files in FTP?

I solved it - used SSH to get the old file.
