Status Icon: .gif -> .png

How do I change the extensions of the status icons from .gif to .png? I tried looking in the templates and changed all that I could find however that only changed the key at the bottom and not the actual status icons next to the categories.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Edit: I have posted this is the wrong section, could a mod move it please thanks
