Express Registration - Bypassing the "Forum Rules"
I use Google Analytics to monitor my community registration rates. It presents a goal as a group of pages, to be visited in a specific order, and provides statistics on when and where users "abandon" the process by visiting another "outside" page. Interestingly, on average, I'm losing 31% (or nearly 600 people) every single month at the "Forum Rules". The visitors who make it through the Forum Rules have a 100% registration success rate, and all become members.
Now, I acknowledge that some of those who left at the sight of the Forum Rules may have reached the registration page in error. I doubt, however, that the rest of those 600 visitors are actually finding something they can't agree with in the rules. I'm sure you can see where I'm going with this, and it makes me wonder if a modification that bypasses the Forum Rules screen would help increase registration rates for communities of all sizes. Is this something you would use yourself, or would consider implementing and releasing to the public?
