Flashing Link if New Post Made

Hello

I was wondering whether someone could help me.

I have 3 forums which are invisible but are still accessible. I link to these 3 forums via a navigation panel on the right hand side.

Sometimes members forgot to check for new posts and I was wondering if someone could create a modification for me that would make the link 'flash' when a new post is made with that forum?

Any help would be greatly appreicated.
