Official vB CMS coming?
Just wondering if there may be an OFFICIAL CMS coming for vB soon? I know there were talks at one time about doing one. Now that Jelsoft has been acquired by a bigger company I thought it might give them the resources to do one up right for those that may want one.
In the mean time, does anyone know of a good CMS that will integrate well with vB and NOT require you to use the vB style templates, etc. In other words, I want an independent CMS from vB so I can use my custom HTML layout and not have that boxy look like most Portal type sites have. I've tried vBAdvance, but it requires you to use one of your vB Styles and is not independent like I want. Also, there seems to be issues with some HTML code if you do nested tables within tables on custom content pages. Most of the CMS I've tried are a pain, like Droupal, Joomla, etc and have ruled ALL of them out because they don't integrate well or not supported if they do that well. Right now I'm looking at Subdreamer, but they haven't updated their stuff for some time now. Any advice on doing a CMS or do you think what I want to do would be best to use my own layout style and just use vB by itself and put custom mods/hacks on the pages I want them for the best solution? |
