language editor
Hum, 'ning!
A while ago I was looking at some language packs to us on my forum, and I'd installed one (English UK) - I think my vB version was 3.4 (possibly). But, when I was looking for languages, I remember reading something about a program or mod, or something (can't exactly remember what it was - just that I saw it mentioned) that ports languages, or makes it easier... I want to modify the English US that comes with vB3.6.4 to something that's more appropriate to my board, but it really is an a*se ache to go though every single phrase and edit by hand every single occurrence of the word I wish to change. The problem with this, I'm sure you're aware, is that a lot of the words that most admins wish to change also appear as variables, and so changing a word using the find/replace method may also bugger up the whole phrase variable thingies. What I'd like to know is... is there anything that makes the language porting any easier than the simple find/replace method that comes in the vB phrase manager? EDIT: Or, is there any tried and tested foolproof method for creating a new language based on the vB shipping standard? Many thanks in advance, Step |
