DownloadsII

DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.

Because a lot of people keep on asking this:
This mod works with any version of vBulletin 3.7.x and 3.8.x!

It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.

Help!!! I can't upload large files??

This is probably the second most asked question. Have a look at this post for the solution.

It doesn't work with GARS?!

If you also use the latest version of GARS, you will get the "Fields marked in RED must be filled in!" error when uploading a file. I provided a fix here on the GARS forums.

Addons

We are offering 3 addons for this mod at the moment (have a look at the bottom of this post for them). DownloadsII contains 5 hook locations for the vBulletin plugin systems, so you can add extra functionality without file edits.

• ecDownloads Buddy is NOT compatible with this version. If you are using the Buddy, you should UNINSTALL it before installing DownloadsII ver 5.x.x. The Buddy's features are now integrated into DownloadsII.

Don't know what to do, after deleting 5.0.5. i uploaded 5.0.6. files to host and while importing product i receive "No file uploaded and no local file found".. need help

If it's not on the "Open File Directly in Browser", it should open in a new window normally. What browser are you using? Also give it a try in another one.

I don't know what could cause such a random error. If it happened to the attached images, it could be the problem CyberRanger sorted out, but for uploading files the 666 chmod is done correctly. Also you are talking about random errors, so it can't be a chmod problem (or even a PHP problem). Those errors wouldn't be random occuring then, but always.

Can you check your Apache error log? Are there any (related) errors with downloads.php?

That's already possible, just use the usergroup permissions
There's a per usergroup setting to control the amount of downloads.

a l help out at a large forum which uses this module (which l see has been updated since the version it currently has) and we are having an issue with people creating up to several account just to get around the daily bandwidth limitations that are in place, its getting quite annoying weeding out these users, so an ability to limit these users based on cookies or even a time limit between downloading per IP would be useful (of course the time limit wouldnt be mentioned but it could be set for an hour or two in hopes to combat those ungrateful users who only want to download content and leave without considering that some sites only have some much bandwidth to spread between each user)

Normally you can just set the download delay in the settings, or use the usergroup permissions to set download delays per usergroup (which is overwriting the overall setting). It's checking the username AND the IP already, so it should work.

They're probably using the PHP PDF functions to do this or another PHP class (there are more of them). This isn't an easy to add thing as it requires some special functions (or a separate class) and it's a pretty load to include this in DownloadsII as it won't be used by a lot of people. It could be something for an add-on.

You can also make your copyright and distribution rights clear at the top of the PDF with your site url etc. and send a mail to those sites.

well it turn out taht i had raid issues since i have 2 hdd in one partion...
anyway i got another request, i want to place ads on every download page except for donators and the staff ppl, i want like ads on top and bottom... how can it be done

??? Your question is hard to understand but I think the answer is no. DownloadsII doesn't put the files into separate folders. All uploaded files go to the same folder. We aren't happy with that either but that's how it works now.

That's not anything related to DownloadsII. You've installed/uninstalled a product that creates a field named credit_daily that is giving you the error. That's not a field used in Downloads.
