vBookie for vBulletin 4 Details »» | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Please See the first post for a F.A.Q. I will endevour to link to useful posts within this thread there as I spot them. You should check there before posting issues etc. This is a port of vBookie for vBulletin 3.5 by Andreas which was a port of vBookie - vBulletin Betting Hack by tjdrico. Permission was given by tjdrico to port this. vBookie is a 'bookmakers' or betting extension to vBulletin. It enables authorised members to post Events and Outcomes that forum members can bet on. Each Outcome has its own set of odds, and odds can be modified through the life of an Event (bets that are placed are stored with the prevailing odds, so even if the odds change, your users are paid at the correct rate). Once the results are known, Events can be settled and forums members awarded their winnings. vBookie uses its own vCash by default, but this has no more use than as 'bragging rights'. Although vBookie does not have any built-in facility to integrate with any other store hacks, it's a very simple job to hack vBookie itself to integrate it with any store/points system you care to use. Install Instructions 1. Unzip product file 2. Upload files from 'Upload' folder to your forum 3. Install product XML [S]4. Edit "newthread" template as per readme.txt ionstructions[/S] 5. Set usergroup permissions 6. Set vBookie settings 7. Enjoy. 8. Check out Dismounted's Activity Stream addon 9. Click Mark As Installed and Rate Upgrade instructions same as above, but undo edits made in point 4 if upgrading from pre 4.0.7! One thing I would request tho is if I can move your credits to the footer of the page. It has a little less exposure there but it will be on all pages. Let me know.

I'm not really fussed, it's not my product, I just ported it - it's just a bit cheeky to be asking for support whilst removing credit.
Not sure if the original author had a branding free option - contact him and find out, although it wouldn't take anyone with a couple brain cells more than a minute to google and find out what the product is anyway. Back to your problem - have you absolutely confirmed it is an issue and not just an "I'm pretty sure this happens"? |

Youre 100% right about it being cheeky. I really do feel like a jackass.
This is 100% confirmed as in this admin will post in the thread: "I have x credits before I settle this bet, I should have y credits if it pays me properly." Then he settles the bet and he doesnt get paid. We have made a bunch of dummy events trying to trouble shoot and I cant make heads or tails of it. |

Do his credits go down when he places a bet, do they get returned when a book is abandoned?

OK I just settled a bet that I created a week or so ago. I was the only winner on the event and I did not receive my winnings. So it seems if you create an event you only get paid if someone else settles the bet.
Credits definitely go down when a bet is made, I havent abandoned any events but I will create a dummy event and see. |

In the Forum title where it says "vbookie:" where can I change vbookie to another word, like "football". Other than that, it's perfect so far, thanks!!

Just settled an event where there was no winner and none of the betters received their wagers back.
Am I the only one having these problems? |

That is expected behaviour - if there is no winner - everyone loses and the bookie makes a motza. If you wish to return all stakes, you should abandon the event.
