I paid for vbportal too but I chose to not have a portal for a main page. I still disagree with doing that for a forum site...
I have vbadvanced installed and I love it. It is a great new page on my site... http://www.talkandmore.net/cmps_index.php? |

I have been using vbPortal for years, yes v2 was kinda cumbersome but now its a dodle. if vb produces an update its really np, and vice versa with vbP. No code to hack they are integrated seperatly if you can understand that, just the templates themselves are stashed away in addition to the standard vb templates.
Skinning is easy, its now a quick .css file edit and one or 2 template mods and your done. I think the biggest skin template mod Iv had to do for vbPortal v3.xx is 4 template changes. Hacks that hook in vbulletin are just as easy if not easier to hook into the vbPortal. I really cant put down vbA iv never used it, thats because I was very happy with the vbPortal in the first place. and now it rox. Whats more theyve just announced a limited offer of lifetime membership gratis with that $25 purchase and for those who want to renew the same deal is $10 That is a steal as imo vbPortal is really worth as much as vb itself, and even without that special offer bundle vb and vbP together its way cheaper than phpnuke premium membership for their open source stuff. Breaks my heart to say it but for open source phpnuke is a ripoff and its code is very poor. If you like vb v3.00 gold + admin cp you will also like vbPortals admin cp. |
