What is Tapatalk?

Tapatalk is a vBulletin mod that allows your users to browse your forum using a native mobile application. Tapatalk supports iPhone, Android, BlackBerry, webOS and Windows Phone 7. It provides super-fast access to your forum and allows your members to participate more in your forum while on the go.

Installation Instruction:

Installation is easy. It does not change any of your forum settings or overwrite any
of your existing forum code and configuration. Simply follow the procedure below:

Step 1

Create yourself an account at http://www.tapatalk.com/plugin.php. Once you have logged in
to the website, you can download the largest version. If you are not sure you are
using the latest version. Download a new one from
http://www.tapatalk.com/download.php. You can follow the rest of the instruction
from tapatalk.com onward if you want. Otherwise read on:

Step 2

Upload the zip package at the root of your forum system.
Unzip the package. You should see a directory called "mobiquo" inside your forum
system root directory. For example, if your forum URL is http://www.mysite.com/forum,
it should be placed at http://www.mysite.com/forum/mobiquo/.


Step 3

Login to Administration Control Panel (admincp) in your server.
Choose "Style Manager" under "Styles and Templates".
Choose "Edit Template" in your current template.
Click "Edit" in your current template
Choose "headinclude" in the list, click "Edit"
At the bottom of the editor, insert the following line:
<script type="text/javascript" src="mobiquo/tapatalkdetect.js"></script>
Click "Save".


Step 4

Visit http://www.tapatalk.com/addforum.php to enter your forum URL and upload you forum
logo there. It will allow end-user to find his way to your forum using the Tapatalk
app.

Step 5

Visit http://www.tapatalk.com/manageforum.php to confirm the setup so you can select
whether you want to publish your site to the public listing or you want to set it up
so it is complete private to other end users.

Wow.. talk about community contribution here... much appreciated and will definitely update our installation instruction to include this. Will it work on vb4 and vb3.7?

It will work on vB 3.7 (because the variable $ad_location[ad_footer_end] is available).
I don't know for vB 4.x. I don't want to buy that.

By the way, your program is very nice. It's working what makes a big difference when comparing to others available on the AppStore. Just a little regret : the logout button should be more visible. Is there an automatic logout (like in the cookies) ? My point is : if my Ipod is lost, I don't want someone else to access my admin session.

Thanks for the head up and we just tried it in vb4.0 and it doesn't work. We will have to figure it out ASAP as it is a very nice little thing that make the installation process a bit cleaner.

For the login-logout issue. Yes we plan to move the Logout button to be more visible.. and to answer your losing iPod concern... perhaps you can change your password immediately on the desktop? The same fashion that you will call your bank if you lost your wallet with credit cards?

We have managed to finish the image upload feature on iPhone, now (well, i mean as soon as we submit it to app store and apple approves it) you can simply attach a photo either from Library or straight from the camera! No more email via other third-party tool!

when "Add Image" button is tapped it will ask if you want to take the picture from camera or from library:

Tap "Start Upload", you can continue to write your post while the image is being uploaded at the background

It takes only few seconds to upload, image will be re-sized to smaller resolution (if taken from camera) so to make the transfer faster

We are still doing some final testing on this feature but I just can't wait to share this good news after months of hard work to make it happen!

I tried using this and it said "Upload Failed. Please contact your forum administrator if this problem persists." Any idea what could be wrong?

Just a head up to everyone.. we have quietly released the beta version of BlackBerry app.. You can do a OTA download at http://tapatalk.com/bb

Still have a lot of issues on this version as it doesn't yet to support Storm device and BIS network but we are working on it

I have installed the beta BB version on my Storm 2 and the install wend ok but when I try to pull up the list of sites, well lets just say thats all the app does, cant click on any site, cant search for any sites.. I believe this is a common problem with this beta release at least with the storm 2 users running version 5 of the OS

We didn't have a chance to test on Storm for this beta (sorry didn't make it obvious) but we intent to fix this problem in next beta release...
