Spider Display
Version 1.0.4
(By Boofo)

What does this product do?
This Hack displays the Number of Spiders on Forumhome and Who is Online.

If you are using a previous version of this mod, make sure to replace the default vBulletin template lines back into the templates and they are now automatically edited.

Version Information:
Version 1.0.1 --Initial release for vBulletin 3.7
Version 1.0.2 --Fixed MySQL error.
Version 1.0.3 --Fixed the leading comma issue when there were no members online.
Version 1.0.4 --Template edits now done automatically. No more manual template edits.

Credits:
A big thank you goes out to Andreas for coming up with the original code for this for 3.5.4. It now works in 3.7.

Installation overview:
Products to install: (1)
File Edits: (See the NOTE below)

Installation Instructions:
1. Upload spiders_vbulletin.xml to the includes/xml directory on your site.

2. Go to your Admin CP
Scroll down to 'Plugin System'
Click 'Manage Products'
Click 'Add/Import Product'
Click the 'Browse' button, and locate the product-spiderdisplay.xml file on your computer

Done!
Enjoy!

NOTE: There is one file edit that I have not found a way to get around yet. It is a special template cache that must be used with this. The easiest way to do it is add the file edit to the includes/config.php. Since this file does not change as often, you should be fine on most upgrades. This is the ONLY file edit.

NOTE: If you do not click install, you do not need support.

Someone needs to link me so I can check it out.

NOTE: The IP is not what vb uses to identify Spiders. It is the User Agent that it uses. Are they showing up as Guests or Spiders in the Who's Online?

If they show as Guests in the Who's Online, then it is working as it should. This hack only does the count in the Who's Online and does the spiders and count on the forumhome.

Have you updated the spiders_vbulletin.xml lately?

The way mine is doing it is on ForumHome it shows 7 guests 0 spiders but after clicking on Currently Active Users it changes to 0 guests 7 spiders. Is that what it is supposed to do. If so is there a way to just take it off Forumhome, the Spider 0 part and leave in the CAU part?

If it is doing that you have something interfering with it on the forumhome and we need to find out what it is. Is it showing the spider names in the Who's Online when it says 7? And have you updated to the spiders_vbulletin.xml from the com?

Yeah it is showing them in the Who's Online. I just uploaded the spiders_vbulletin.xml as it was as I think I saw somewhere in here that it was up to date. Could it be that it does not jive well with 3.6.8? I haven't had any spiders yet on my board that uses 3.7 so I am unable to give a comparison.

This is basically the same hack I ran on 3.5.4 so that shouldn't be the problem. If you can link me to your site I can check it out and see if I spot anything. There has to be a reason for what is happening as I haven't had any other problem like this where the spiders show in the Who's Online on and not on the forumhome. If they show one place, they should show in the other also.
